A Teaching Plan for Go for it G-7(II)

  Yes, I/she/he/they can.  No, I/she/he/they can’t.

2.Ability aims
To master the usage of modal verbs : can, can’t.
To improve students’ listening and speaking skills
To polish students’  pronunciation and intonation.
3.Moral aims
To arouse students’ interests in learning English.
To make students love school and school activities.
To develop students’ spirit of co-operation.
III. The importance
1.Key vocabulary: Can you/she/they …?
Yes, I/she/he/they can.  No, I/she/he/they can’t.
2.To master the usage of modal verbs : can, can’t.
3.To improve students’ speaking abilities, pronunciation and intonation.

To make students apply the usage of can/can’t.
To make students express their opinions fluently with target language.
V. The Procedure
 Step 1. Warming-up
Enjoy the video and greet the students.
Step 2 Lead-in
Create a situation of 2016 Yucai School Show.
We are going to have a large school show for the coming new year.
I’m the director, I want some actors and actresses.
Can you help me? etc.
Step 3 Practice (Preparations for 2016 Yucai School Show)
Round 1 Show your talent
1.Present can/can’t
Can you/she/he/they …?
Yes, I/she/he/they can.  No, I/she/he/they can’t.
New words: kung fu/write stories
2.Pair work

A:Hello!
B:Hello!
A:What can you do?
B: I can… Can you…?
A: Yes, … can. (No, …can’t.)     … …

Let the students read the phrases above.  Then ask them:
--Can you/she/he/they/we …?  (---Yes, I/she/he/they/we can.  No, I/she/he/they/we can’t.)
4.Write questions and answers (3a)
Check the answers.
Summarize the usage of can.  Can …? Yes, … can./No, … can’t. 
Round 2 Join the club
1. Present the clubs.
Ask: What club do you want to join?
2.Listen and choose (2d)
What clubs are mentioned in the conversation ?
A. The soccer club and the dance club
B. The art club and the chess club
C. The art club and the story telling club
3. Listen again and fill in the chart.
